Hand Building with Clay
Come make a variety of projects as you learn to build with this versatile material. Clay is soft and can be molded with your hands into a wide variety of forms from functional mugs and bowls to sculptures of all kinds. Projects range from flowers to a vase. Learn to make almost anything from figures, animals, and candle holders to abstract sculptures. Beginner projects teach the basic building techniques of coil, pinch, and slab construction with joining, shaping, texturing, and carving. When works are ready, enjoy learning glazing techniques including dipping, painting and using wax resist. Class includes two hours a week of studio time.
Firing fees are not included in class tuition.

Beginner Wheel Throwing
Learn to create pottery on the wheel in this class for beginners. Master each step of making a finished pottery piece–from wedging clay, centering it on the wheel, and shaping it, to controlling the drying process, trimming, and glazing. Students will learn from demonstrations, discussions, hands-on instruction, and pictures. Class fee includes two hours per week of studio time.

Intermediate Wheel Throwing
Take your work to the next level in this class designed for students with a foundation in wheel throwing. Explore different forms and advanced techniques for creating and altering them. Instructor will demonstrate a variety of advanced techniques and forms from creating lids and handles, to throwing vases, bowls, mugs, plates, or altered forms. Class fee includes two hours a week of studio time.

Advanced Pottery Class
This class is for advanced potters, who have taken numerous classes in pottery. Learn advanced techniques and tricks of the trade. The teacher will teach a variety of techniques from how to use tools in a different way as well as how to create and make altered forms. Class includes two hours a week of studio time.
