Intermediate Painting – All Mediums
This class is open to anyone who has gained some experience in painting—either watercolor, acrylic, or oils—and wants to bring their art to the next level. Instructor Betty Ann Medeiros will help each student gain the confidence to find their own way to a completed painting. On each student’s own project, she will give you an appropriate depth of information about color, shading, perspective and style. Betty Ann will discuss artist’s tip and tricks to train the eyes to really see and paint the subject at hand. In this beginner class you will learn blending, texturing and various other techniques for oil and dry pastels. Painting All Levels
There are many approaches to painting. The fundamentals or “elements” of art are a collection of foundational groundwork to take from in order to create the right approach for you. Various painting approaches and techniques will be covered in this all levels class and each student will be individually instructed. Printmaking At Railyard: Monotype & Intaglio
If you can push paint around with a brush then you can make unique one-of-a-kind prints. The class will first focus on monotype printmaking using Akua inks and water-soluble crayons. Midway through the session, we will begin to use a non-toxic technique to make etchings. These can be printed on their own or combined with monotype. Anthony will guide each artist through the plate preparation process and the printing. All printmaking materials used are non-toxic. The instructor will provide all materials. Materials fee is $45 paid in cash or check to the instructor.

Catch the sun and all the colors of the rainbow in this class for beginner and advanced students alike. Students will create project(s) of their choosing from sun catchers & candle holders to windows. Beginners will learn all the steps of stained glass copper foil construction from concept to tools, cutting, foiling, soldering, and presentation. Come learn and create with glass and metal while enjoying the company of fellow artistically minded people. Materials for the first class included. Teacher will instruct students on purchasing the additional materials needed on a per project basis.

Mosaic – All Levels
Learn the art of mosaic in this class where you will work with variety of small materials—from cut glass and ceramics to found objects like keys—to create beautiful designs. There’s no experience necessary—the instructor provides step-by-step instructions during each lesson. Students will have the opportunity to experiment with transparent and opaque materials, random and planned designs, make their own tile, and learn to cut glass. Over the course of this session, you can choose to make several small projects, like a picture frame and vase, or one larger project. Materials for the first class included. There is a $5 fee for shared class materials. The instructor will advise students on purchasing the additional materials needed on a per project basis.

Photography Classes – Beginner to Advanced
Monday Beginner Photography Class is designed for people who want to know how to use their camera. In this class you will learn basic photography skills and techniques, including manual settings, understanding the relationship between light and shadow, metering and composition. The goal is to give you confidence when using your DSLR.
Tuesday Advanced Photography Class is more assignment based. Here you will get to focus on putting it all together, mixing your technical skills with your creativity.
You will need a DSLR, owner’s manual, memory card, notebook, pen/pencil, and means of sharing digital images (ex. Flash drive or external hard drive) for all three courses.

Paint Pour – 4-Week Mini Session
Bring your painting smock, roll up your sleeves, and pour your paints to make pour paintings in this 4-week mimi session. Start by learning to mix your paints and layer them. Chemicals enhance the surface and when your canvasses dry, learn to clean and varnish the surface for a professional look. You’re on your way to an exciting, modern experience with paint!
We provide the supplies for the first class only. The instructor will let you know what you need to buy for the remainder classes.
